DAY 4: Favorite song

What would I give if I could live out of these waters…

I know it seems like a give away, but Part of That World is my favorite Disney song. It’s full of so much intensity and longing and sadness. It’s sung by such a sad girl, a girl who never even really fit into her own family or lifestyle. When Ariel dreams, she dreams big. To all those who believe Ariel gave up her family and her identity or whatever when gaining legs just for some guy- remember that she’s always wanted to be part of the human world regardless of finding love. She’s probably considered how if she was ever to get legs she’d have to leave her family and spent many sleepless nights over how much that would hurt, but how much she would be following her dream. This whole song is about her wanting to be part of something bigger, to finally find a place where she belongs. Part of That World is just so beautiful.
